Each step takes time. Even if everything goes well, retatrutide is unlikely to be widely available privately in the UK in the immediate term, and longer still on the NHS.

What about sellers offering retatrutide now?

Some online sellers, beauty clinics, and social-media sellers are offering retatrutide despite its lack of UK approval. This is unlawful, and it is unsafe. The supply chain has no regulatory oversight, no GPhC accountability, and no safety net.

The MHRA has warned consumers about buying prescription-only weight-loss medicines without a prescription. The risks below apply to any unregulated supply, but they apply with particular force to medicines that have not been approved at all.

Counterfeit risk

Vials sold as retatrutide outside the regulated chain may not contain retatrutide at all. They may contain other compounds, incorrect doses, contaminants, or simply nothing active.
